Programme Manager in Housing, Transport and Built Environment Subject Group in the College of Humanities and Law [RF: 2024/25-FT-133-JDB]
Duties: HKU SPACE is expanding its portfolio of programmes in the areas of tree management, building services (including fire safety) and built environment, and the appointee is expected to display a good understanding of the market needs in these areas. A strong network within one or more of these industries and prior experience of teaching or managing relevant programmes will be a strong advantage.
Key responsibilities include designing and developing programmes, promoting and marketing courses, handling day-to-day administration, and liaising with students, teachers, and professional bodies. Daytime teaching may also be required.
Requirements: Candidates should possess a Master’s degree directly relevant to tree management, building services and/or built environment, along with at least 3 years of relevant industry experience. A professional qualification in one or more of these areas would be a strong advantage. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to work independently, manage resources, and excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
Terms of Appointment: Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The contract will normally be for 2 years with the possibility of renewal subject to review. A contract-end gratuity (taxable) will be payable upon satisfactory completion of the contract. Medical and dental benefits, 18 days’ annual leave and the use of library facilities will be provided where applicable. The School also provides staff development opportunities.
