Assistant Registrar (Corporate Services) in the Directorate Office [RF: 2024/25-FT-141-JDB]
Duties: The appointee will assist the Deputy Director (Academic Services) in his responsibilities for (i) corporate governance, including contractual matters, legal issues and company secretarial issues; and (ii) international matters relating to the School’s extensive network of overseas partner universities.
Requirements: Candidates should have a recognised degree or professional qualification (preferably in law, company secretarial or related disciplines) with extensive working experience in company secretarial or legal work, particularly contract law issues. Experience in the higher education sector and drafting legal documents is an advantage. The post requires a candidate well-versed in company secretarial and corporate governance practices, including the Companies Ordinance, risk and compliance procedures, ESG and other statutory requirements as well as the drafting of Board papers. Experience in handling legal agreements, legal action and complaints is also required. Excellent command of English and Chinese. Mature, self-motivated, detail-minded and ability to work independently are essential.
Terms of Appointment: Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The contract will normally be for 2 years with the possibility of renewal subject to review. A contract-end gratuity (taxable) will be payable upon satisfactory completion of the contract. Medical and dental benefits, 22 days’ annual leave and the use of library facilities will be provided where applicable. The School also provides staff development opportunities.
