    Laboratory Assistant in the Community College   [RF: 2024/25-FT-142-JDB]

     

    Duties:            The appointee will be responsible for the operation of the science laboratories in the College.  He/She will be required to provide technical support to lecturers and students, assist in practical lessons and demonstrations as well as to manage the set-up and inventories of laboratory equipment.  He/She will also coordinate procurement of laboratory equipment and consumables, and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisors.  Shift duties during weekdays/weekends will be required.

    Requirements:           Candidates should possess a Higher Diploma or an Associate Degree.  Preference will be given to those with one year’s relevant working experience and/or post-secondary education in general science disciplines or equivalent.  He/She should be independent, have good written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) and high proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office and Chinese word processing. 

    Terms of Appointment: Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  The contract will normally be for 2 years with the possibility of renewal subject to review.  A contract-end gratuity (taxable) will be payable upon satisfactory completion of the contract.  Medical and dental benefits, 18 days’ annual leave and the use of library facilities will be provided where applicable.  The School also provides staff development opportunities.
