Programme Manager in Housing, Transport and Built Environment Subject Group in the College of Humanities and Law [RF: 2024/25-FT-260-JDB]
Duties: HKU SPACE is expanding its portfolio of programmes in the areas of occupational safety and health, housing management, surveying and built environment, and the appointee is expected to display a good understanding of the market needs in these areas. A strong network in one of these areas would be a strong advantage, as would prior experience of teaching or managing relevant programmes.
Key responsibilities include designing and developing programmes, promoting and marketing courses, handling day-to-day administration, and liaising with students, teachers, and professional bodies. Daytime teaching may also be required.
Requirements: Candidates should possess a master’s degree directly relevant to one or more of the related disciplines, together with 3 years’ relevant working experience. A professional qualification in one or more of these areas would be a strong advantage. Good communication and interpersonal skills, an ability to work independently and as a contributing member of a team to manage resources, and excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese are required. Experience in teaching and programme management would be an advantage. However, consideration will also be given to candidates without teaching experience.
Terms of Appointment: Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The contract will normally be for 2 years with the possibility of renewal subject to review. A contract-end gratuity (taxable) will be payable upon satisfactory completion of the contract. Medical and dental benefits, 18 days’ annual leave and the use of library facilities will be provided where applicable. The School also provides staff development opportunities.
