    Accounting Officer in the Finance Unit   [RF: 2025/26-FT-045-JDB]

     

    Duties:  The appointee will assist the Senior Finance Manager in performing the accounting and finance functions to ensure smooth operation of such functions in daily activities as well as to provide efficient and effective professional services to academic/administrative units.  The main duties include but are not limited to the following:-

     

    • To provide various financial and accounting services to a College, including month-end and year-end accounts closing, forecasts, and 3-year Financial Plan;
    • To perform daily accounting routines and administration including partner charges, payments, provisions and accruals, expense claims and enquiries;
    • To support development projects including administration of applications, development funds, reports and analyses, payments, receipts, and general accounts, etc.;
    • To review the accounting routines and administration for donations, specific funds and grants in compliance with the School’s policies, the requirements of the funding bodies, and the accounting and reporting standards;
    • To prepare financial reports, analyses for donations, specific funds, grants, and development fund projects to monitor the utilisation of the development funds with proper documentation;
    • To assist in month-end / year-end accounts closing, forecasts and 3-year Financial Plan for donations, specific funds, grants, and development fund projects;
    • To undertake ad hoc tasks as assigned by supervisors and team leaders.

     

    Requirements:  Candidates should possess a Higher Diploma in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines and obtained Level 2/Grade E or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) or equivalent. They should have at least 6 years of relevant working experience in accounting, financial analysis and budgetary control. They should be proficient in accounting applications, with working knowledge of HKFRS and good computer skills including Microsoft Office advanced spreadsheets and word processing.  Previous hands-on experience in Oracle financial system will be an advantage.  They should also possess strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal and organization skills, good written and spoken English and Chinese, and the ability to work well under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.

     

    Terms of appointment:  Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  The contract will normally be for 2 years with the possibility of renewal subject to review.  A contract-end gratuity (taxable) will be payable upon satisfactory completion of the contract.  Medical and dental benefits, 18 days’ annual leave and the use of library facilities will be provided where applicable.  The School also provides staff development opportunities.
