Programme Director / Programme Manager in Housing, Transport and Built Environment Subject Group in the College of Humanities and Law [RF: 2025/26-FT-085-JDB]
Duties: HKU SPACE is expanding its provision of housing, transport and built environment programmes for Putonghua speakers, and the appointee will play a leading role in developing, promoting and managing these programmes. This position offers the right candidate an exciting opportunity to shape HKU SPACE’s delivery of a wide range of programmes for Putonghua speakers, from property management to sustainable development. Alongside a strong focus on enrolment-related activities, duties of this post include programme design and development, day-to-day administration, supervision of teaching staff and co-ordination with students and teachers.
Requirements: Applications are welcome from both within, and outside, Hong Kong. Candidates should have a master’s degree directly relevant to housing, transport or built environment. Professional qualification in one or more of these areas would be a strong advantage. Candidates should possess relevant work experience of at least 8 years if applying for Programme Director or at least 3 years if applying for Programme Manager. Prior experience of teaching and/or managing programmes in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) will be advantageous. Candidates will be expected to display a thorough understanding of the needs of adult learners in the GBA and demonstrate a strong entrepreneurial streak and ability to promote HKU SPACE as the preferred destination for housing, transport and built environment programmes in the GBA. Candidates should have excellent proficiency in English and Putonghua, good communication and interpersonal skills and strong commitment to excellence. We encourage new and innovative ideas. Preference will be given to candidates with experience using GenAI.
Terms of Appointment: Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The contract will normally be for 2 years with the possibility of renewal subject to review. A contract-end gratuity (taxable) will be payable upon satisfactory completion of the contract. Medical and dental benefits, 18 days’ annual leave and the use of library facilities will be provided where applicable. The School also provides staff development opportunities.
