    Temporary College Assistant Lecturer (QEF Project) in Oriental Studies Subject Group in the College of Humanities and Law   [RF: 2026/27-FT-015-JDB]

     

    Duties: The appointee will assist the Programme Director in the coordination and administration of the “Quality Education Fund (QEF) Thematic Network - Designated Themes on Learn and Thrive Together – Supporting Kindergarten Students in Learning Chinese” project. The appointee will be responsible for providing on-site school support, coordinating networking activities, parent seminars, and a territory-wide sharing forum for kindergartens. The appointee will serve as a liaison for a designated group of the 23 participating schools, handling communication, documentation, and follow-up tasks. He/She will assist in the coordination and implementation of support initiatives, including lesson preparation, classroom observation, and post-lesson evaluation. The appointee will also contribute to promoting research-based practices in Chinese language learning and assist in managing the overall project logistics and progress.

    Requirements: Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of early childhood teaching and teacher training experience, or a Master’s degree. The candidate should possess good written and spoken Chinese and English, strong interpersonal and organisational skills, and be proficient in MS Office applications. Familiarity with quantitative research methods is an advantage. The candidate should be motivated, responsible, and able to work independently and collaboratively. Experience in Chinese language teaching research is preferred.

    Terms of Appointment: Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The contract will be on temporary basis with expected end date of 31 August 2027.
