Assistant IT Officer (IT Facility Services) in the Information Technology Services Unit [RF: 2026/27-FT-017-JDB]
Duties: The appointee will assist the IT Manager in ensuring sufficient IT facilities for teaching/learning in the School.
Key Responsibilities:
· Maintain Windows Learner AD policies for all students and teachers’ account;
· Monitor usage and performance of the desktop resources, server hardware and system software in all learning centres;
· Install and maintain software applications according to teaching and learning needs;
· Keep updated system images with patches for tutors and learners;
· Assist in desktop PC upgrade according to the maintenance cycle;
· Manage the contractor on the outsourced to the maintenance cycle; and
· Any other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in IT related disciplines plus at least one year of relevant working experience. Candidates with an Associate Degree/Higher Diploma in IT related disciplines plus at least three years of relevant working experience will also be considered. Skills and knowledge of Microsoft server & desktop OS management, hyber-V & reborn technology, software deployment & control, and SQL Database administration are required.
1-2 years’ experience in server, application & desktop management, domain, VM & cloud services, project management, user & vendor management is preferrable. Holder of Microsoft, Citrix & Cloud services certificates will be an advantage.
Terms of Appointment: Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The contract will normally be for 2 years with the possibility of renewal subject to review. A contract-end gratuity (taxable) will be payable upon satisfactory completion of the contract. Medical and dental benefits, 18 days’ annual leave and the use of library facilities will be provided where applicable. The School also provides staff development opportunities.
