    Senior AI Solution Engineer (in the grade of Computer Officer II) in the Information Technology Services Unit   [RF: 2026/27-FT-062-JDB]

    Duties:

    The appointee will report to the IT Manager (AI & Emerging Technology) and support the AI & Emerging Technology Team in the design, development, integration and implementation of AI-enabled solutions, enterprise applications and digital platforms across the School. The role is expected to provide strong technical and project delivery support for AI development initiatives, with a focus on integrating AI capabilities into ERP systems, web applications, e-learning platforms and institutional services. Major responsibilities include:

    · Support the design, development, implementation and enhancement of AI-enabled systems, digital platforms and application services;

    · Assist in system integration across ERP platforms, web applications, portals, APIs and e-learning platforms such as Moodle;

    · Develop and deploy production GenAI solutions—including RAG architectures, multi-turn AI assistants, and autonomous workflow agents—to optimise teaching, learning and operations;

    · Coordinate with users, IT teams and vendors to translate needs into practical technical solutions;

    · Contribute to technical standards, documentation, controls and continuous improvement; and

    · Support responsible AI adoption, data protection, risk management and service quality improvement.

    The post offers an opportunity to support the School's AI & Emerging Technology Team in advancing the next phase of AI-enabled digital transformation. The appointee will contribute to delivering practical and scalable AI solutions, integrating AI with ERP, web and e-learning platforms, and supporting the technical development and implementation of institutional AI innovation.

    Requirements:

    · A bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or related disciplines;

    · At least 7 years' relevant experience in software development, system integration, solution delivery or IT service management;

    · Proficiency in core programming languages for modern AI and enterprise systems (e.g., Python, TypeScript/JavaScript) and REST/GraphQL API design;

    · Practical knowledge of AI, machine learning and Generative AI, including AI-enabled solution design or integration;

    · Knowledge of prompt engineering, building RAG pipelines, vector databases, LLM orchestration frameworks, and agentic workflows;

    · Experience with enterprise cloud AI services such as Microsoft Azure OpenAI, Google Cloud Vertex AI or equivalent;

    · Solid understanding of database architecture (SQL/NoSQL), system security, identity management (OAuth/SAML), and modern CI/CD DevOps workflows;

    · Good analytical, problem-solving, project coordination, communication and interpersonal skills; and

    · Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

    The following will be a strong advantage:

    · Experience in integrating AI into ERP, web, workflow, digital service or e-learning platforms such as Moodle;

    · Experience in Google Gemini Enterprise, Vertex AI, AI agent orchestration or enterprise Generative AI development;

    · Experience in AI solution delivery or digital transformation in higher education or institutional operations;

    · Knowledge of responsible AI, governance, data privacy, cybersecurity and risk management; and

    · Experience in preparing technical proposals, solution documents or recommendations for stakeholders.

    Terms of Appointment: Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The contract will normally be for 2 years with the possibility of renewal subject to review. A contract-end gratuity (taxable) will be payable upon satisfactory completion of the contract. Medical and dental benefits, 18 days’ annual leave and the use of library facilities will be provided where applicable. The School also provides staff development opportunities.
