    Assistant Finance Manager (Financial Systems) in the Finance Unit   [RF: 2023/24-FT-518-JDB]

     

    Duties:  The appointee is required:

     

    • To be responsible for the technical and administrative oversight of all modules of the Financial Information System (FIS) e.g. General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchase Order, Accounts Receivable, Project Accounting, Fixed Assets and Cash Management and their interfaces with other systems, including development and maintenance of Financial Statement Generator reports and tailored-made reports generated by Discoverer;
    • To work with IT Services Unit (ITSU) and other related user departments to undertake system enhancement, process review, maintenance and support from finance user perspective, in particular, the interface between the FIS and various systems;
    • To review and enhance operational workflows and requirements including e-workflow, Power BI Report, and so on;
    • To work with ITSU and liaise with members of the Finance Unit for the FIS system upgrade;
    • To support the daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual processing and reporting cycles of the finance applications in accordance with scheduled deadlines;
    • To support security control procedures and conduct periodic review on the system internal security in compliance with the School’s policy;
    • To advise and train finance staff members in using related finance applications;
    • To undertake any ad hoc system related tasks as required.

     

     

    Requirements:  Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of post-degree relevant working experience in IT or related systems disciplines, previous experience in accounting & finance is an advantage.  Proficiency in system implementation and project management for large and complex accounting applications.  Minimum 3 years of experience at management/supervisory level plus 3 years of ERP experience in Oracle Financial System and/or Peoplesoft HCM and/or SAP.  They should also possess sound analytical, problem‑solving, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills; good written and spoken English and Chinese, and be able to work well under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.

     

    Terms of Appointment: Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  The contract will normally be for 2 years with the possibility of renewal subject to review.  A contract-end gratuity (taxable) will be payable upon satisfactory completion of the contract.  Medical and dental benefits, annual leave and the use of library facilities will be provided where applicable.  The School also provides staff development opportunities.
